MIKE VALE BIOGRAPGHY:
The last few years have been a whirlwind of success for Mike Vale, Slovenia’s fast-rising global tech-house star. Not to be confused as just another producer turned DJ, Mike is equally proficient both in the studio and behind the decks.
Mike’s passion for music began at a young age while combing through his Dad’s extensive record collection at home. After years of spinning at local clubs, and countless hours of refining his craft in the studio, his breakthrough came in 2011 with the track “Pretty Woman”. Released on Tomcraft’s Great Stuff Records, it reached the top of the Beatport charts and was supported by the biggest names in the industry like Carl Cox, Marco Carola, and Pete Tong.
After the “Pretty Woman” release, Mike quickly became an in-demand remixer. Selected highlights include his remixes of Pleasurekraft’s “Anubis” [Great Stuff], Do Santos’ “2 Coffee” [303 Lovers], Alex Kenji’s “Not That Kind of Girl” [Hotfingers], and Prok & Fitch’s “Symphony” [Stealth] which hit #1 on Beatport’s House chart.
Mike’s original productions also began to take off shortly after. Numerous releases on Toolroom’s compilations, “Can’t Fight The Feeling” on Hotfingers, and a follow up on Roger Sanchez’s Stealth Records with the track “Don’t Give A Damn” (featuring the vocals of Stella Mercury) kept the momentum rising for Mike.
Along with his solo releases, Mike’s had a long-standing collaborative effort with fellow Slovenian, UMEK. Tracks like “All I Want” and “How’s Your Body” on UMEK’s 1605 label, “Hard Times” (feat. Chris The Voice) on the mighty Spinnin’ Records, and most recently their remix of the classic Mason track “Exceeder” on Armada rose to No. 1 overall on Beatport.
Not to be outshined by his work in the studio, Mike’s touring schedule has taken him across the globe to the U.S., Canada, the UK, Holland, India, all over Asia and of course his home turf in Eastern Europe. “For me, there’s nothing quite like the experience of playing in front of different crowds, and taking them on a journey throughout my sets. When I DJ, it’s all about the groove,” he explains. Event highlights have included Space, Ibiza for Carl Cox’s Revolution party, major festivals like Ultra Europe and Mystic Garden, and his current hometown residency at Cirkus in Slovenia.
With Beatport naming him in both their annual “Ones To Watch” and “Hottest Tech-House Artists” lists, look for Mike Vale to explode to unknown heights in 2015 and beyond.
